My name is Samantha, I live in Ames, Iowa. I have a four year old daughter and a wonderful husband.
When I was in the eighth grade, a woman came and talked to our class about her experience as a nurse working in the neo-natal intensive care unit (NICU), and it was then that I decided that that was what I wanted to do with my life. When I had my daughter, who spent her first two days in the level II nursery, it reaffirmed my feelings that babies were my passion. Over time, I began to consider being a labor and delivery nurse which has evolved into becoming a midwife. I began to read books about midwifery and the more I read, the more I know that this is what I am meant to do with my life. Birth, pregnancy, and babies are my passion. I am now in nursing school through DMACC, after which I will get my master's degree in nurse-midwifery through Frontier Nursing University.
